You Belong to the City

2016 has been heartbreaking in the entertainment world. Alan Rickman,  David Bowie, and Glenn Frey yesterday… I grew up knowing great bands like The Eagles, and CSN because of my mom, and let me tell you something; THAT is music. On my way home from work last night, Q104.3 had the Eagles playing back to back as a tribute. I’ll be adding some more songs to my running playlist as a tribute as well, including Glenn’s single “You Belong To The City” Amazing song.

Rest in Peace Glenn

Speaking of the city, in 2 days, applications for the 2016 TCSNYC Marathon open. Anyone can apply to be chosen in the lottery pool of potential runners. If you are chosen, they charge your credit card, and you’re in. I’m going to apply. Getting in would mean the world, and it would be such a high honor. My first marathon, and in NYC, imagine that! If I don’t get in this year, I’ll still consider running in the Philly Marathon in November. I have nothing less than high expectations for myself this year.

This past weekend I got 2 good runs in. 4 on Saturday, and 5 on Sunday. Since the weekend I have been cross-training on the elliptical because of the weather. And speaking of weather, this weekend they are calling for our first significant snow. I have to admit, I don’t mind shoveling, but I’m hoping that we don’t get one storm after another this year. So far, we have lucked out (until now I guess) This time last year, we already had some major storms. We’re doing pretty well.

Temps feel like 3 degrees right now, so I don’t think it’s smart to run this morning. I’ll put in extra work on the elliptical before work. So have a great Tuesday everyone, and bundle up!
