Happy New Year everybody! Hope everyone had a fun-filled New Year’s Eve, and has recovered by now.
Yesterday, I got out for my first run of 2016, which was also a virtual run. I completed Gone For a Run’s 2016 Resolution 5k by running about 4 miles (ran more than 5 kilometers).Yesterday’s run actually felt really good, and my pace is continuing to naturally improved, which gives me motivation in my training. I have to now remember that the half marathon is just over three months away. Things are getting serious now.
I have a lot of goals for 2016, both in running, and just in general. With running, I have to admit I’m already thinking about doing my first marathon this year. I haven’t even run a half yet, and I have my sights set on 26.2 miles, I must be crazy! But there’s absolutely nothing wrong with thinking above & beyond. I was going to wait until after I run the half in April before making a decision about a full. However, the one marathon i’m looking at (Philly marathon) registration opens up April 1st. I don’t want to wait too long so that the race sells out. I have at least three months to sleep on it. Nevertheless, I’m expecting to train hard, and if I do decide to run the marathon, expect me not to have much free time from now until November.
By the way, I just wanted to add that I saw Star Wars on Wednesday, and it was Phenomenal. If you have always been a fan (like me) then you will appreciate it. And if you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for? If you have seen it, see it AGAIN!
What are your 2016 goals?
